Outside the Jail

“So David, tell me, what is your friend into?” Joy asked from the driver's seat.

David was calmly relaxed in the back seat and really didn't feel like talking, so he casually replies, “He bout to come out in a minute.”

“I know that, but I asked you.”

Damn she starting to irk me, “Yo, like I said before, he bout to come out.”

“Oh my bad, I just figured since that was your friend you might could fill me in,” she explained, slightly hurt.

David ignores her and continues to stare out the window watching the entrance. Annoyed at his behavior, Lita quickly turns around in her seat, “David is there some type of problem?”

He was waiting for her to open her mouth. “Step out the car for a minute,” he ordered, while exiting the vehicle.

Lita quickly complied, prepared for a confrontation. Unfortunately, as soon as they stepped out, Tone was headed their way.

“I know that ain't my fuckin main man right there,” Tone pumped, as he approached.

David looked up with a smile, recognizing his comrade’s voice. Tone smiles as well as they embrace each other. “So they finally let you out, huh,” David said, taking a step back admiring his friend.

“Aye man you know they can’t hold a playa forever, but fuck all that, I see you doing big things out here,” Tone acknowledged, once he saw the Benz, “and you chilling wit models too,” he compliments, giving Lita a once over.

Lita was all smiles, liking Tone already.

“Dog it's nothing major, besides we got other things to discuss,” David said, becoming serious.

“Damn David, you not gone introduce me to your friend?” Lita asked.

“Oh Yeah, Tone this Lita, Lita this Tone.”

Tone was taken aback, because David's stories wasn't adding up, especially standing in front of this vixen. “Hold up,” he said, pausing for effect, “I know this ain't the infamous Lita?”

“Yeah that's her,” David answered, all smiles.

Lita was upset and her facial expression showed it, “What the fuck is that supposed to mean Tone?”

“Oh nothing sweetheart, but I have to tell you, this man right here,” he said, placing his hand on David's shoulder, “used to talk about you every day, and from my eyes I knew he was madly in love.”

Lita started cheesing. “For real?” she asked, staring at David with lust.

“Absolutely!” Tone said, discreetly winking at David. Just then Joy exit's the car and approaches, and Tone couldn't help himself as he spoke, “Damn homie, you ain't tell me we was on Rip the Runway,” he offered, staring at Joy with complete admiration.

Joy smiled at the comment, liking him already, he's not bad looking either, she thought.

Tone immediately sticks his hand out. “Angel,” he began, “please tell me your name.”

“Joy,” she answered, returning the gesture.

“I knew it had to be something like that, cause you damn sure bring joy to my eyes!” He then bends down and kisses the back of her hand.

Joy was showing all teeth, “David I like your friend.”

David chuckled, “I knew you would,” was his reply, and the rest was history. Joy and Tone hit it off from the jump and David actually started to warm up to her.

For David, growing up on the mean streets of Philadelphia is no easy feat. Born in a crack infested neighborhood destroyed his family.
